Privacy Policy

Sumtrix ("Sumtrix", "we", "us") is a puzzle game for iOS and iPadOS, operated by Jacob Ko as an individual developer. This policy explains what information the app handles and your choices. We handle personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
Sumtrix has no accounts and no sign-up. You never give us a name, an email address or a password.
Information we handle
- No account information. There is no sign-in of any kind.
- Your game progress, in your own iCloud. Which stages you have cleared in each mode and level, stars, best times and attempt counts, when you last played, how many new stages you cleared each day, and whether you used the day's bonus Laser Bomb. This is stored on your device and synced through your private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit) so it follows your devices. We cannot read it, and it is not sent to us or anyone else. Turning iCloud off for Sumtrix in your device settings stops the sync.
- Your settings, such as sound and haptics, stored on your device.
- Purchases. The Full Game purchase is handled entirely by Apple. We never see card numbers or payment details; the app only asks Apple whether the purchase is active.
- Reminders. Sumtrix can send occasional reminder notifications. They are scheduled on your device by the app itself, not sent from a server, and we receive no notification token or any record of whether you opened one. The app asks once, after you first win a stage; you can switch reminders off in iOS Settings › Notifications › Sumtrix.
- Feedback you choose to send. If you use Send Feedback in Settings, the message you write is sent to the developer together with the app version, iOS version, device model and the stage you last played, so the problem can be reproduced. It does not include your name, email or any account or device identifier. It passes through a small relay we run on Cloudflare and arrives in the developer's private Discord channel. Nothing is sent unless you tap Send.
- No analytics. Sumtrix contains no analytics or crash-reporting SDK.
- No advertising. Sumtrix shows no ads and does not track you.
Service providers
- Apple: iCloud/CloudKit sync into your own private database, and purchase processing.
- Cloudflare and Discord: only for feedback you choose to send (relay and delivery to the developer).
We run no other server.
Sharing
We do not sell or share personal information. There is no account data to share.
Retention and deletion
Your progress stays until you remove it. Deleting the app removes its on-device data; the iCloud copy can be removed from Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Storage › Sumtrix.
Children
Sumtrix is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. There is no chat, no user-generated content and no social features.
Security
Data in transit is encrypted. Your progress is held in your own private iCloud database, which only your Apple account can read.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you may request access to, or correction of, any personal information we hold about you. Because Sumtrix has no accounts, in practice we hold none. Contact admin@jacobko.app.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
